1. Start by making a new file with the Width=1024 and Height= 768 and a white background.
2. Fill your background layer with a black to dark blue gradient.
3. Reset your colors to black & white by pressing D on your keyboard.
4. Using the type tool with Stencil Std font and a size of 400 write your text, I will write AND.
5. With the text layer selected go to Layer->Layer Style->Blending Options, the Layer Style window should appear, here we’ll apply the following styles:
-Click on Drop Shadow and apply the following settings:
-Bevel and Emboss:
-Contour:
-Satin:
6. Make a new empty layer, then hold Ctrl and click the thumbnail of the text layer in the layers stack to select the contour of the text.
7. With the new layer selected go to Filter->Render->Clouds, then go to Image->Adjustments->Brightness/Contrast and set the Brightness=45, set the layer blending mode to Multiply and the Opacity=8.
8. Duplicate the first layer (the background layer) and move it on top of all the layers, set this layer blending mode to Soft Light.
The final result should look like this:
